Clay Consulting

Moulding the business side of therapy

Starting out?

We build your website, sort your online presence, and get you visible to clients — all done for you, from day one of qualifying

Already in practice?

We audit what's working, find what's holding growth back, and give you a prioritised plan for solo practices and organisations alike.

Who we are

Clay Consulting is a marketing and business strategy consultancy for therapists, counsellors, and therapy organisations in the UK.

We run two services: Launch, for newly qualifying practitioners who need a website, SEO, and Google Business Profile set up from day one, from £99 setup + £25/month. And Grow, a business health check and growth strategy for established practices and organisations.

Clay was founded by George Holloway, who combines over a decade in commercial marketing (most recently at Amazon) with training as a psychotherapist at CCPE.

Most therapy training ends at the clinic door. Everything that comes after — the website, the admin, the question of whether anyone can actually find you — gets figured out alone, late, and in between clients. We're here to change that.

What we cover

Foundations

Starting out is the moment when getting things right matters most, and when there's the least support to do it. We work with newly qualifying therapists and organisations to build a proper foundation from the start, not patch one together later.

Visibility

Being good at the work isn't enough if the right people can't find you. We help practices and organisations build and maintain the kind of online presence that brings in clients steadily, without having to become a marketer to do it.

Operations

Every practice and organisation is different in size, structure, and what's actually getting in the way. We take the time to understand what's specific to yours before recommending anything, and build around what you actually need rather than a standard package.

How we work

Simple, personal, and shaped around where you are.

1

We talk

A free call to understand where you are and what you're building.

2

We map it out

A clear picture of what's needed and what it will cost.

3

We work

Building, auditing, or advising, depending on what is needed

4

We stay close

On hand for questions, updates, and whatever comes next

Why this matters

Around 4 in 10 UK businesses don't make it past their fifth year. The most common reason isn't lack of skill, it's admin, cash flow problems, and decisions made without the right information.

For counsellors, therapists, and organisations, the risk is sharper. Training prepares you to hold space for clients, not to run a business. New practitioners end up doing both, without the expertise of HR, finance, or marketing teams to lean on.

We've seen it up close — not from the outside looking in, but from inside a psychotherapy training programme, watching this unfold firsthand.

Clay exists so the business side never gets in the way of the work you trained for.

Not sure what’s right for you?

That's fine. Most people aren't, until they talk it through. A short call costs nothing and tells you which path makes sense, or whether it's a bit of both.
